Long before establishing a local presence, Griffin supported contractors, engineers, and municipalities on complex dewatering, bypass, and water management projects throughout the region.

Downtown San Francisco Dewatering

For a 60-foot-deep excavation at 9th & Market Street, Griffin installed a 12-well dewatering system in challenging Bay Mud conditions. By utilizing 2 HP high-head pumps instead of larger conventional systems, Griffin achieved the required groundwater control while minimizing fines, reducing treatment requirements, and lowering overall project costs.

El Dorado Hills Levee Improvement Project

For a critical levee improvement project near the southeast end of Folsom Lake, Griffin provided a wellpoint dewatering system to support an 80-foot-deep excavation to bedrock for a concrete plug installation. After initially supplying the system as a rental, Griffin assisted with setup and operation to remove groundwater from the rock formation, enabling the contractor to achieve the dry excavation conditions required for the concrete pour. Sacrificial wellpoints were incorporated into the final structure to meet project design specifications.
