Griffin installed the dewatering system in a timely manner and the contractor was able to maintain their schedule because the dewatering system kept groundwater under control. Griffin provided weekly monitoring of the dewatering system and fuel service throughout the project to ensure that the system was operating properly.

THE CHALLENGE

Lowering groundwater 17ft. below ground surface for an excavation of approximately 550 ft. x 100 ft. The new building foundation was connected to an existing building which limited room to install the dewatering system.

THE SOLUTION

A wellpoint dewatering system approximately 550 ft. long was installed parallel to the existing building.

Griffin installed 80 wellpoints at an approximate spacing of 7 ft. to a depth of 30 ft. We provided one operating and one standby wellpoint pumpto operate the system.

The pumps were plumbed to a 500-gallon fuel tank that provided almost one week of run time between fueling.
