Griffin Difference

Despite the seasonal variability in the groundwater table, Griffin stood out due to our quick response for the design and installation of a dewatering system. This also ensured the successful installation of the sanitary sewer line prior to the arrival of the high ground water seen in this area, thus saving the contractor significant costs.

THE CHALLENGE

Groundwater had to be lowered 12′-18′ below ground surface for the new sanitary sewer. Due to the high flow rates the discharge water from the system had to be placed far enough away from the excavation to prevent recharge as well as not flood adjacent properties

THE SOLUTION

Griffin installed a system consisting of 8 deep wells approximately 60 ft. on center for
the sanitary sewer to a depth of 40′, 1200LF of 16” HDPE discharge piping, and
30HP pumps. During the progression of the project select wells were tuned on and off
thus lowering the groundwater for their excavation while limiting the amount of water
that was being discharged.
