Griffin communicated effectively with the various permitting departments to expedite the schedule. When the schedule changed, Griffin adapted to the change, and installed as much of the system as possible. This allowed us to begin dewatering early so that a portion of the delayed excavation could begin while we waited for permit approval to drill the remaining wells.

THE CHALLENGE

Not only did this project require up to 25 ft. of drawdown in a complex geologic environment, but multiple permits were required due to the wells being in public and private space. The project schedule was impacted while multiple permitting departments reviewed and approved the various authorizations required.

THE SOLUTION

Griffin designed and installed a series of deep wells to effectively lower the groundwater across the project site. Griffin also diligently worked through the permitting process and adjusted to the delays by revising our planned sequence of work, allowing us to install portions of the system that were not included in the public space permit. We installed inclinometers, a portion of our wells, and the associated header/discharge pipe which allowed the project to continue forward while we waited on the remaining permits.
